The Over the Moon Award (Ages 8-11) Covenant of the Goddess sponsors three award programs offered to any young person or adult who is a member of any nature-oriented religion (Wicca, Druid, Asatru, Native American, etc.). For youth awards, the candidate must fulfill requirements as listed in The Over the Moon or The Hart and Crescent booklet, as certified by their religious leader or parent. Requirements are Wiccan in orientation, but may be adapted to other faiths by the adult working with the young person. Members of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other youth organizations may earn the award, but it is not limited to Scouts. The Over the Moon program is for youth ages 8-11 and requires students to explore some of the fundamentals of their religion. The award is an enamel cloisonné pin with a stag and moon on a green background. An outer blue circle contains the words “Over the Moon” in Theban Script. The Hart & Crescent program has more rigorous requirements for youth ages 12 to 18. The award consists of a pewter medallion suspended by a green, blue and white ribbon from a scroll bar which says "Hart & Crescent" in Theban Script. A certificate is also presented. Additionally, Covenant of the Goddess offers The Distinguished Youth Service Award for Adults. This award is for any adult who has rendered excellent service to youth - including (but not limited to) religious, civic, instructional or rehabilitative capacities. Candidates may be nominated by their religious leaders (or by others who know of their work) and should also include two or more letters of recommendation. This award consists of the Hart & Crescent medallion suspended from a neck ribbon. Award program documents are available online (click link to open in your browser or right-click and choose "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." to save the document to your computer).
